Dr Neil Hudson highlighted a host of veterinary sector concerns in the national media following a special session of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee he chaired on the issue.
The only vet elected to the Commons since 1884, Dr Neil Hudson MP utilised his expertise when quizzing industry leaders on a host of issues including workforce shortages, mental health strains and a recent publication by the Competition and Markets Authority. If not properly addressed, the issues could have huge implications for animal health and welfare as well as the nation's biosecurity, border protection, food supply and human public health. In recognition of this, there was significant discussion in the media.
