Dr Neil Hudson MP visited Penrith Rugby Union Football Club to lend his support to the brilliant grassroots club ahead of the upcoming season.
Penrith Rugby is a thriving community club with two men’s teams, a women’s team, a veterans’ side and 15 youth teams. Passionate about sport, Dr Hudson reinforced his commitment to the vital community hub that does so much to engage local people in rugby.
Recently Dr Hudson wrote to a letter on behalf of both PRUFC and Penrith Cricket Club to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport calling on funding to be distributed evenly across the country.

He has since directed both organisations to public bodies with available funding streams for the clubs and has written letters of support for future applications.
Dr Neil Hudson MP said:
“Grassroot clubs like Penrith Rugby play such a crucial role in encouraging people to take part in sport and unlocking the mental and physical health benefits it provides. It’s a beloved community hub and I will continue doing all I can to make sure it is properly resourced.
“Wishing everyone at all levels of the club good luck for the upcoming season. I’m sure the whole country will be rallying around the men’s national team for the World Cup and get down to their local clubs to support them.”
