Dr Neil Hudson MP attended one of the first major animal protection events of the Parliament, hosted by leading animal health and welfare charities Humane Society International/UK, Compassion in World Farming, Four Paws UK and the RSPCA.
Dr Hudson is the first vet elected to the House of Commons since 1884 and is a key voice in Parliament for animal welfare concerns. As such, he was again keen to reaffirm his commitment to the animal kingdom at the event and liaise with key campaigners to address core issues moving forward. He is also now the Co-Chair of the APPG for Animal Welfare.
The event focused on a diverse host of issues from introducing core animal welfare standards in trade deals and tackling illegal puppy farming and smuggling, to clearer food labelling.

Speaking afterwards, Dr Neil Hudson MP said:
"I was delighted to join more than 80 MPs, animal welfare experts and charity leaders at one of the first largescale animal health and welfare events of the new Parliament. As a nation of animal-lovers we are united across the house in our passion to protect those furry and feathered friends without voices of their own.
"As a veterinary MP, I will continue to stand up for animal health and welfare in Parliament."
