Dr Neil Hudson has met virtually with students from Kirkoswald C of E Primary School and Kirkby Stephen Grammar School this week to discuss the issues important to them.
As part of a broad programme of meeting with local schools across the constituency, Dr Hudson fielded questions from enthusiastic pupils on subjects such as Covid, racism, the environment, climate change and parliament.
Dr Hudson spoke with Year 5 and 6 at Kirkoswald Primary School for a general discussion and Year 8s at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School as part of their citizenship studies.
Commenting on his sessions with both school’s Dr Hudson said:
“It was fantastic to take part in Q and A sessions with students from both schools with intelligent questioning from start to finish. It is truly one of the joys of my role as an MP that I get to engage with inquisitive pupils across Penrith and The Border. The children who I spoke to are a credit to their schools, teachers, parents and wider communities. The future is in good hands!”
