Dr Neil Hudson MP visited St Mary's Church in Loughton to pay tribute to its tireless work catering to the needs of the community.
From supplying those in need with food parcels and helping the homeless to providing a warm social space for the elderly and running community craft events to bring people together the church is working hard to improve and support lives throughout Loughton and Epping Forest.
Dr Hudson met with the Vicar, Malcolm Macdonald and his wife Caroline Macdonald who is the church's Living Hope Coordinator - responsible for undertaking much of the church's community projects. He also spoke to Cafe Hope staff, as well as those benefiting from services.
The church is running a host of regular and festive events as we get closer to Christmas, so do consider finding out more here: https://www.stmarysloughton.com/Groups/359235/Living_Hope.aspx
Dr Neil Hudson, MP for Epping Forest, said:
"It was so warming to see a vibrant and thriving community church in the heart of my constituency doing so much to make people's lives easier and more joyous. What Malcolm, Caroline and the entire St Mary's family have created is simply stunning - an oasis of calm and caring on the High Street where people can feel welcomed and cared for.
"Do consider supporting their endeavours if you feel able and if not, the Cafe also does wonderful coffee, so definitely worth popping in for that."
Vicar Malcolm Macdonald said:
"It was great to welcome Neil Hudson MP to St Mary’s Loughton today to see our community ministry and to explore how we can best serve the people of Loughton and Epping Forest."
