Dr Neil Hudson MP showed his support for East 15 Acting School when he visited their Debden campus in his Epping Forest constituency recently.
East 15 Acting School offers is one of the UK's premier conservatoires offering undergraduate and post-graduate training in acting, theatre directing, stage management, creative producing and much more. Since 2000, the school has been part of the University of Essex.
With alumni starring in internationally-renowned stage and screen productions, E15 does much to foster the next generation of acting talent. Many students come from the Epping Forest area and local names are now appearing in BBC, Netflix and ITV series.
Dr Hudson is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA) and was eager to discuss important issues facing Higher Education including accommodation, tuition fees, international students and Government funding.
Dr Neil Hudson, MP for Epping Forest, said:
"It was absolutely clear from my visit just what a powerful asset East 15 Acting School is for us both here in Epping Forest and also for the UK's thriving arts sector that does so much to employ folk and boost GDP.
"From Debden to the world, E15 produces a wealth of homegrown talent starring in some of the biggest productions on stage and screen. While I remember my student acting days fondly, being up close to the pros just reinforced my profound respect for acting as an artform.
"Moreover, I am resolute about supporting Essex University which does so much to transform lives by empowering people's aspirations and giving them the tools to flourish."
Dr Chris Main, Director of East 15 Acting School said:
“We were really pleased to have the chance to give our new MP a taste of the immersive educational experience we offer our students.
"It was a great chance to highlight the incredible theatre talent we nurture and the global impact our graduates have within the arts.”
