Dr Neil Hudson MP welcomed the team from Great Corby Brewhouse to sample their award winning ale which is now on tap at Parliament's iconic Strangers' Bar.
Brewery Director Sandra Hall and Owner David Corkill, visited the Houses of Parliament for the unveiling of their award-winning ale, Tizzie Whizie this week.
The 3.4% beer packed with citrus recently won the highly prestigious SIBA Gold Award by the Society of Independent Brewers, who also attended Strangers' Bar to taste the fine ale. the Brewery also won Bronze and Silver for their Coffee Milk Stout and Fox brown Ale respectively.
Bringing a distinctly Cumbrian flavour to Westminster, Tizzie Whizie is named after the mythical creature with the body of a hedgehog, the wings of a bee and the tail of a squirrel that is said to inhabit Bowness-on-Windermere.
Dr Hudson has visited the brewery and their associated pubs and restaurants on a number of occasions first when it was bucking the national trend and bouncing back strongly after the difficult times for the industry during the pandemic. Since then Great Corby Brewhouse has gone from strength to strength taking on a local apprentice and selling in pubs and shops across the North of England.

Dr Neil Hudson MP said:
"It was a delight to welcome David and Sandra to Strangers' Bar in Parliament to sample their cracking new Cumbrian beer - Tizzie Whizie - and toast their recent success at the SIBA Awards.
"The team have bucked the national trend and gone from strength to strength through hard work and dedication to the craft of beermaking, so it was only right to see their brilliant beer at the heart of one of our nation's great institutions.
"More than just a brewery, the Great Corby team have helped raise vital funds for the young suicide prevention charity, PAPYRUS, in tribute to our mutual friend Andy Airey of 3 Dads Walking - so for that and setting the brewing bar so high, I congratulate them."
Sandra Hall, Great Corby Brewhouse Director, said:
“We were immensely proud to have Tizzie Whizie featured at the Strangers Bar in the House of Parliament. This momentous occasion has left us all at Great Corby Brewhouse beaming with pride, we are all standing a little taller today, knowing that our labour of love has garnered such recognition.
"This opportunity not only validates the craftsmanship and dedication that goes into creating all our beers but also signifies a milestone for us as a brewery. We are truly honoured.”
