Dr Neil Hudson MP welcomed £171,699 awarded to projects in his constituency by the National Lottery Community Fund between 1st July and 29th September.
The National Lottery Community Fund is the largest funder of community activity in the UK. Between July and September, £122 million of vital National Lottery funding has been awarded to over 2,500 charities and community groups in England, with grants ranging from £500 to £1.5million. The funding is all part of The National Lottery Community Fund’s ambition to strengthen society and improve lives across the UK.
Penrith and The Border’s largest recipient of National Lottery funding was Brampton and Beyond Community Trust which received £140,000 to deliver a wide range of services to the community from health and fitness to educational and social activities.
Based at Brampton Community Centre, the Trust will also utilise funding to better utilise the space to reflect activities and services reflected by the community.
The National Lottery Community Fund is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
Dr Hudson is strongly encouraging community organisations to get involved and apply here: www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk/funding/programmes/national-lottery-awards-for-all-england
