Two Cumbrian agri-food businesses teamed up for a night showcasing local meat, local grain and local beers, attended by farming-champion Dr Neil Hudson, MP for Penrith and The Border.
The Tailored Goat Company, a premium free range goat meat business based near Penrith, and Fell Brewery, A Cumbrian brewery with a range of bars stocking their beer, united for a night showcasing their local produce.
Hosted at the brewery’s King Street premises, Fell Bar Penrith, punters were treated to a free portion of goat curry with every pint of Ohra Pils.
The crimped barley that gives this particular beer its unique flavour is grown near Penrith and is the same crop used to feed the Tailored Goat Company’s herd of Boer goats.
Dr Hudson met with the brewer and the farmer who united to create a sustainable cooperative business strategy designed to grow the local economy while also producing high-quality ethical food and drink.
Dr Neil Hudson, MP for Penrith and The Border, said:
