The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee will question the author of the National Food Strategy for England, Henry Dimbleby, at an evidence session to be held at 10.00 am on Tuesday October 18 in Committee Room 6 of the Palace of Westminster.
Mr Dimbleby was commissioned by the government, in 2019, to write an analysis of the UK food system. The committee will also take the opportunity of the session to get Mr Dimbleby’s view on the government response to the report he submitted.
Dr Neil Hudson MP for Penrith and The Border, and Member of the EFRA Committee said,
“The Inquiry that I have triggered on our EFRA Committee into Food Security continues this week and we will be interviewing the author of the National Food Strategy for England, Henry Dimbleby. Food security is of vital importance to our country and it is so crucial that we encourage the production of local, sustainable and healthy food for our communities. Our fantastic farmers and food producers are key to this and our Inquiry will look to how they can be supported in this endeavour.”
