Pupils, staff, and parents from Nenthead Primary School took part in a thoughtful Q&A session with their local MP, Dr Neil Hudson, when he visited the school recently.
The rural school is one of the smallest in the constituency and so children of all ages gathered to ask Dr Hudson a range of questions, focusing on everything from animals and the environment to the life of an MP and school policy.
He was also treated to a guided tour by some of the youngsters who were happy to show off their school.
Afterwards Dr Hudson spoke to a small group of teachers and parents about community concerns and national politics, thanking them for taking the time to talk to him.
Part of Alston Moor Federation, led by Gill Jackson, Kate Bainbridge is the Teacher in Charge at Nenthead Primary School. Both teachers were present and asked Dr Hudson their own questions.

“It’s always lovely to hear the kind of issues occupying the minds of our wonderful primary school pupils and I was really impressed by their questions.
“Covering topics from the environment to party politics, the pupils are a real credit to their families and teachers, thank you to Nenthead for having me.
“I know Nenthead is an incredibly supportive community and I know its young folk have wonderful futures ahead of them no matter what they decide to do.”
