Dr Neil Hudson visited Chrysalis, a local charity based in Wigton Cumbria, to show his support for their ongoing work supporting adults with learning disabilities.
Chrysalis have for the last 25 years have provided opportunities to enrich the lives of adults with learning disabilities in a friendly and supportive environment. The centre offers bespoke support, ensuring they cater for each person’s individual needs and aspirations.
On the visit Neil was shown the three sites that Chrysalis manages in Wigton, including the Chrysalis Wholefoods shop, a social enterprise in the town centre. The social enterprise which opened in 1997 is designed to provide social and community integration. Neil then met with some of the staff and supported folk in the sensory garden in Wigton.
Commenting after the visit Neil said:
“It was uplifting to visit the Chrysalis sites in Wigton. I would like to give my sincere thanks to all the staff and volunteers who work so tirelessly to support folk locally in so many ways. It was humbling to see the impact of the amazing work that they do. The work they do not only supports the individuals who come to them for support but also the wider community.”
