Students from Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Penrith were treated to a question-and-answer session with their local MP, Dr Neil Hudson, during a recent trip to London.
The A-Level History students enjoyed a tour of the Palace of Westminster – even getting to stand inside the House of Commons debating chamber.
Following their tour, they met with Dr Hudson who was quizzed on everything from his role as an MP and current legislation to Carlisle United Football Club’s recent promotion.
Dr Neil Hudson, MP for Penrith and The Border, said:
“It is always a delight to meet with such switched-on young folk and it was clear to me the county is in safe hands. Their questions were equal parts thoughtful and genuinely challenging – the hallmark of a healthy and functioning representative democracy no-doubt.”
