Students from Ullswater Community College are taking part in the Regional Heats of the National Reading Champions Quiz.
The National Reading Champions Quiz is an initiative that is now in its third year. It was created by National Literacy Trust and is supported by the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society. The quiz aims to build a love of reading and celebrate reading for pleasure in schools across the country.
The quiz is an opportunity for schools to enjoy an online quiz with their peers, compete with other schools in their region and will help to build a love of reading in students. The quiz is open to students aged between 10-14 years and schools can enter up to two teams of four students per team. Dr Neil Hudson MP said: I am thrilled that pupils from Ullswater Community College will be taking part in the Regional Heats of the National Reading Champions Quiz. Reading is not only a hobby, it is also a great way to expand our minds, vocabulary, and gives us confidence. I wish the pupils at UCC all the best luck and I will be keeping an eye on their progress.
